Privacy Policy — Memento Mori

Memento Mori ("the app") is a life-in-weeks planner published by Homol Works. This policy describes what data the app stores on your device and what optionally leaves it.

Summary

Memento Mori stores your data on your device. We do not operate a user account system or sell your data.

Data stored on your device

  • Birthdate and profile preferences
  • Weekly goals, completion state, notes, reflections (memoir bullets), goal tasks, and marked weeks
  • Life list ("dreams") — intentions you want before you die
  • Notification preferences (schedule, enable/disable)
  • Optional Expo push token (if you enable reminders and use a build that supports push)

Notifications

If you enable reminders:

  • Local notifications are scheduled on your device using your current week's goals.
  • Remote push (optional) sends your push token and a summary of your current week's goals to our push worker so reminders can fire when the app is not running. You can disable reminders at any time in Settings.

No notification content is used for advertising.

Optional AI (dream steps, reminders, reflections)

If you enable AI suggestions in Settings:

  • Dream title, reason, and existing steps may be sent to our AI worker to suggest or refine steps.
  • Monday kickoff and mid-week reminder text may be generated from your goals and open dreams.
  • Reflection voice merge: when you dictate or type reflection notes, your text (and existing reflection) may be sent to the AI worker to produce bullet-form memoir text. Voice audio is processed on-device by Apple/Google speech recognition; only the transcript is sent when you use AI merge.

We do not use this content for advertising. You can disable AI at any time in Settings.

Voice input (reflections)

Speech-to-text for reflections uses the device microphone and OS speech recognition. Audio is not uploaded to our servers; only text you choose to save or send for AI merge leaves the device as described above.

Photo library (week memories)

If you open Memories on a week detail screen, the app may request read-only access to your photo library to show pictures whose capture date falls within that week's date range. Photos are displayed on your device only; we do not upload or analyze them on a server.

Data we do not collect by default

  • Name, email, or contacts (unless you add them in a future version)
  • Location
  • Analytics tied to your identity (none in v1)

Export, backup, and delete

  • Export creates a JSON file you control (export includes your life list, reminder schedule preferences, and wizard state; it excludes device push tokens).
  • Automatic backups save up to five snapshots on your device when you leave the app. They are not uploaded to a server.
  • Import can replace or merge data from an exported file or an automatic backup. A safety copy of your current data is saved before any import.
  • Reset deletes all on-device data, including notification settings, life list, automatic backups, and scheduled reminders.

  • Expo / EAS — app builds and push delivery infrastructure
  • Apple — App Store distribution and APNs (iOS)
  • Cloudflare (optional) — push worker if you enable remote push

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.

Advertising

Version 1.0 does not show ads and does not use advertising identifiers for ads.

A future update may introduce optional banner ads with a one-time in-app purchase to remove them. If that ships, this policy will be updated before release and App Store privacy answers will be revised.

Changes
